Privacy Policy

When you get in touch, you trust us with your details. This page explains how we look after them. Last updated 26 October 2026.

Who we are

This policy applies to Mint Technology New Zealand Limited, trading as Mint Technology, and its associated companies. These may include TopQuality Limited and others. Together, we call them "Mint", "we" or "us". We're based at 48 Enterprise Street, Birkenhead, Auckland 0626.

We follow the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and its information privacy principles. This policy covers the personal information we collect through this website. It also covers what we collect when you enquire about, buy or use our services.

Sometimes we handle information on a customer's behalf as part of a managed service. When we do, our Master Services Agreement and the customer's own privacy obligations also apply.

What we collect

We collect only what we need to do what you've asked.

  • Enquiry forms. When you complete a form, we collect what you enter. That's usually your name, company, email address and phone number. Sometimes it also includes your address, number of staff and a message.
  • Bookings. When you book a health check, our online booking system collects the details you enter. These include your name, email, phone and the time you choose.
  • Address checks. If you use an address checker, we use the address you type to look up which services are available there.
  • Support requests. We collect the details you give us when you email, phone or log a ticket. We also collect information about the systems we support.
  • Customers. We hold the account, billing and service details we need to supply and support your services.
  • Calls and emails. We may keep records of your calls, emails and tickets with us. We also keep call recordings where we've told you that we record.
  • Website use. We collect technical information such as your device, your browser, the pages you visit and how you arrived. See "Cookies and analytics" below.

How we use it

We use personal information to:

  • respond to your enquiry and give you a quote or assessment
  • supply, support, bill and improve our services
  • keep our systems and customers secure, and prevent fraud and misuse
  • tell you about our services, if you're a customer or have asked to hear from us
  • meet our legal obligations.

We don't sell personal information.

Marketing

We'll only send you marketing messages if you've asked us to, or if we have another lawful basis to. Every marketing message includes a way to unsubscribe. You can also ask us directly to stop at any time.

Service messages, such as support updates and invoices, aren't marketing.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only where we need to.

  • Service providers that help us run our business. These include hosting, form handling, email, phone, billing, ticketing and analytics providers. They may use the information only to provide their service to us.
  • Network and supplier partners, such as fibre network companies, when we arrange a service for you.
  • Professional advisers and authorities, where the law requires or allows it.

Some of our service providers store or process information outside New Zealand. This includes Australia, the United States and the European Union. Before we disclose personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps to make sure comparable safeguards will protect it, as the Privacy Act requires.

Cookies and analytics

We use Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics to see how people use this website. They show us which pages help and how people find us.

These tools set cookies and collect usage information. That includes the pages you view, your device and browser, your approximate location and how you arrived. It also includes whether you sent a form or tapped our phone number or email address. They don't collect what you type into a form. Google may process this information outside New Zealand.

You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings. You can also install Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

We only load videos from YouTube after you press play, and we use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode.

We also use advertising platforms, including Google Ads and ChatGPT Ads, to measure whether our ads lead to enquiries. When you click one of our ads, the platform adds an identifier to the page address. We keep it for your visit and include it with any enquiry you send, so we can tell which ads worked.

If we add other measurement tools, we'll list them here.

Keeping it safe

We use reasonable safeguards to protect personal information. These include access controls, multi-factor authentication and monitoring.

No system is completely secure. If a privacy breach is likely to cause serious harm, we'll notify the people affected and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner, as the Privacy Act requires.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the reasons above, or as long as the law requires. After that, we delete or de-identify it.

If your enquiry doesn't lead to a customer relationship, we keep it for a limited period so we can follow up.

Your rights

You can ask us:

  • what personal information we hold about you, and for a copy of it
  • to correct information that's wrong.

Email kiaora@mint.net.nz or call 09 222 0220 and tell us what you need. We'll respond within 20 working days, as the Privacy Act requires. We may need to check your identity first.
